Trade Business Accountants work virtually with trade and construction businesses Australia wide to provide tax, accounting, bookkeeping, and business coaching all under one roof, helping our clients proactively earn more money.And we’re looking for another Superstar Tax Accountant to join us on this mission!
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- Attractive $110,000 - $125,000+ salary based on your skills and experience.
- 30 – 40 hours per week (we’re happy to accommodate your desired hours).

- Do work around your own personal schedule with our flexible work arrangements (decide on your start and finish times - perfect for appointments, family commitments, or even how you personally like to work i.e. night owl vs early riser).
- Work with a small client base of trade and construction businesses to provide more personalised, high quality, value adding advice and support (not just transactional accounting with 80-100 clients where you can't make a difference!).
- Work with skilled bookkeepers and business advisors who keep client's accounts up to date so you can focus on delivering outstanding tax advice.
- Have complete ownership of your role with end to end client management while having support from the rest of the team wherever necessary .
- We'll pay for any tech, training and equipment you need to excel in your role - we're big on development! If there is a course, conference, or certification that can support your continued learning and provide value to the firm, we’re happy to cover it!

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Have ownership over end-to-end tax planning + give practical tax advice tailored to each client's business and personal needs.
- Producing tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals (owners + partners of owners).
- Assisting bookkeepers with BAS and IAS preparation/lodgements.
- Tax calculations for Division 7a, CGT and FBT etc.
- Oversight and advice of clients SMSF.
- Advise on business and investment structuring / asset and wealth protection.
- Building strong, long-lasting relationships with clients so they know they can count on you when it's needed (becoming their key point of contact).
- Liaise and negotiate with the ATO on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate and work closely with our business advisors and bookkeepers.
- Ensure complete tax compliance for each client.
- Optimise tax systems and best practice workflows.
- Provide proactive advice and value i.e. be helpful and supportive.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Degree qualified (business, commerce, accounting, finance etc).
- CA, CPA, Masters of Tax etc. (registered tax agent highly favourable).
- Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in business tax advisory within a PUBLIC PRACTICE and business services setting [client facing].
- Tech savvy and highly competent in Xero.
- Proactive, positive, friendly, and helpful personality.
- Passionate about speaking with and helping clients achieve great outcomes with their business and tax (this is a must as this role is client facing).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with high emotional intelligence. Ability to quickly establish connections and build rapport with clients.

- Strong and impressive knowledge of ATO legislation.
- Ability to use initiative, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and disciplined, with a results-driven mindset and strong sense of task/role ownership.
